Imaging Science Summer 2025 Internship Onsite in Boulder CO

Duration: 10-12 weeks during Summer 2025; 40 hours/week

We are seeking a motivated Imaging Science Summer Intern who is currently completing an undergraduate degree in Imaging Science or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of basic imaging science concepts and a keen interest in camera technology and image quality testing.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Perform comprehensive tests on various camera systems in a controlled lab environment
• Execute procedures to evaluate image quality metrics such as resolution, contrast, noise and color accuracy
• Analyze experimental data and compile detailed reports
• Benchmark a variety of cameras across multiple applications
• Maintain accurate lab notes and detailed records of testing protocols
• Assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for imaging tests
• Work closely with our team of imaging scientists
• Present findings and insights in team meetings and contribute to technical discussions

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Imaging Science, Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field
• Fundamental understanding of imaging science concepts, including sensor technology, optics and image processing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Experience with laboratory equipment and basic testing protocols is a plus

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with image analysis software or programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++)
• Previous experience with Imatest Master/IT
• Previous lab experience or relevant project work in imaging science
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Salary Range:  

$25-27/hour with $500 Relocation Assistance
